š(#1) MAKER is here! 6 Reasons On Why You Might Care
My drive to create a Newsletter with meaning.

Read Time: 3 Minutes
Have you ever started an eating plan, only to binge eat on the weekends?
Yeah, me too
Ever get excited about going āZenā and setting time aside for meditation - only to stop after a few days?
Yup, me too
Have you ever told yourself āTomorrow is the day I start trainingā - then hit the snooze button and stay under the covers.
Yeah, me too.
The list could go on ... and I have been in this position more times than Iād like to admit.
Me!!! Someone who loves it all - training, health, mindset ... all of it.
Somehow, I kept finding myself falling off the wagon.
What Changed?
April 17th, 2023 - I literally had enough.
Prior to this date, I was enjoying life - at least thatās what I was telling myself.
You know that stage? A period in time where you say - āI just wanna liveā. Enjoy it. Eat. Drink. Work Hard, Play Hard!
But then I started to notice a shift.
One day I took a moment to reflect and realized that I actually felt terrible.
I was overeating, half assed my training, clothes werenāt fitting, felt mentally flat and having a beer started to become a habit.
It was taking its toll.
Right nowā¦at the time of this post:
- I have not had a sip of Alcohol for 86 days. My mind feels clear and the cut in calories has helped with my health goals too. At some point I may enjoy a beer or three again.
- My training has been consistent, and my body is feeling stronger than it did previously.
- I have a new appreciation for Fasting and its benefits. This is definitely one habit that I will continue to maintain long-term.
- I have added a 30min Morning Routine (Breathwork, Meditation & Stretching - keeping it simple). This short routine gets me in the zone for the day.
- My weight has dropped by 8kgs (from 101kg to 93kg). Weight is not my main health goal though. But I feel good, energetic and my clothes fit how I want them to.
I actually feel like I am in the driver's seat now - mapping my course to navigate the journey (Yupā¦I said Journey - definitely aš©LOL).
At times it can still feel challenging - but understanding certain skills, disciplines and tools, gives me the confidence I need to achieve my goals.
I aim to build the MAKER Newsletter into an online platform for those wanting to gain knowledge or new skills when it comes to their Health, Wellbeing and Mindset Habits.
There is nothing outside yourself. Look within. Everything you want is there.
The 6 Reasons on Why You Might Care:
1. Curated by an Average Bloke. I am a normal humanā¦ no different to most. I would definitely call myself a busy* individual with a family and a career. I just want to share my experiences and what works for me.
2. Not A Preacher. I am not here to preach. I usually get turned off by those preachy types. When it comes to your Lifestyle - Do or Donāt Do - That is your choice to make.
3. Help One Person. If I can inspire or help just one person, I will be happy. In the near future I may share the systems and tools that I use.
4. Keep It Simple. I want to provide as much information as possible - in the simplest way. Save time and get to action.
5. No Excuse Model. I try to structure my routine and habits in a way that reduces the internal excuse battle that we face on a day-to-day basis. Hope to see you do the same.
6. Encouragement & Accountability. Enjoy the process. It will be tough some days, find ways to embrace it and not beat yourself up. Consistency is key over time. Finding the balance on being accountable is the Master Key though.
*Side note - whilst I donāt disagree with the word āBusyā. I think we all know that at times we have not prioritized effectively - particularly when it comes to looking after ourselves.
So, What's Next?
That is up to you. I will continue to post, email and share each week.
Feel free to let me sift through the noise so you donāt have to.
Utilize this Newsletter as you wish my friend.
MAKER Mission: Ignite the spark and help MOVE THE MAKER within.
If you have made it this far...
One thought to ponder on for the week:
Reflect on what you have done or what you are planning to do today.
Is it going to move you towards your goals?
Until next week fam.
