Life has been life-ing lately…. in a good way!

I missed writing and sending out issue # 22 last Monday.

Between life, work and 3 gigs last weekend - I was at a point where I didn’t want to send a Newsletter for the sake of sending it.

It just felt forced, and I didn’t want to post and send without a thought or purpose.

I’m currently in my final few days at my current job. A company I have been with for almost 18 years - I have decided to pivot and change directions. This comes at a time where I still have or had opportunity to develop my career.

What changed?

Something within me was calling me to a new path.

Embracing change is what I want to discuss in this weeks Newsletter - some benefits I have seen already and also known facts on what occurs within you when you decide to take the leap.

Are you feeling stuck or struggling in any of these areas below?

  • Stagnation & boredom

  • Routine fatigue

  • Stunted personal growth

  • Career plateau

  • Health & well-being problems

  • Lack of motivation

  • Adapting to life challenges

Then maybe it is time for change in some way, shape or form.

That feeling of not being “in sync” and forcing life every day is potentially a sign that you are not in alignment with your true self or calling.

The concern and reason we continue to go on with our life this way is due to our comfort zone.

Whilst something may feel a bit off right now - the thought of facing the unknown and leaving your comfort zone can create fear and hold you back from moving forward.

Whatever call you’re hearing right now, what matters is that you answer. What matters is that you go to it.

Courage is calling

There is a book that I have been reading, and not quite finished yet, that has sparked some thought for me lately.

The title alone has had me thinking a lot this year.

“Courage is calling” by Ryan Holiday.

In a nutshell, it contains stories on how to combat fear, why we should take initiative, and the cost of playing it small.

One simple question that has been sitting with me lately is this….

If not now, then when?

At the fork in the road, this was the question that I needed to answer.

I then think about a time when I am 80 years old and start to look back on my life.

Would I have any regrets?

For this scenario, there was only two options:

  1. Staying in my comfort zone and miss out on new opportunities

    or

  2. Take the punt on myself, give it a crack, learn new things about me and regardless of whether I am successful or not - at least I can say that I tried

In these moments, I feel like I always need to choose the second option.

Either way, I will learn something and grow personally.

Is it scary?

Hell yes!

But with that also comes the excitement and call to adventure, which in turn requires the call for courage.

❝

The fear you feel is a sign. If courage is never required in your life, you’re living a boring life. Put yourself in a position that demands you leap.

Benefits of taking the leap

Here are some key benefits to killing your comfort zone, embracing change & taking the leap.

  • Personal Growth. Embracing change pushes you to confront new situations, fostering personal development and expanding your skill set.

  • Adaptability. Stepping out of your comfort zone enhances your adaptability, making you more resilient in the face of unforeseen circumstances.

  • Increased Confidence. Successfully navigating unfamiliar challenges boost your self-confidence, providing that you can overcome obstacles and thrive in new environments.

  • Reduces Stress. Believe it our not, stepping out of your comfort zone can break routine-induced stress cycles, promoting mental well-being and reducing stress levels.

  • Personal Satisfaction. Successfully navigating change can bring a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, both in your career achievements and in the positive impact on your home life

Whilst there is a level of risk in taking the leap or pivoting.

The question to ask is this…

Is it more of a risk to stay in your comfort zone and not grow at all?

or

Is it better to take the risk and challenge yourself to grow and potentially lead to a new life?

At the end of the day… at least you will have great stories to tell someday.

Straight to the point this week.

If you are at a crossroads of opportunity or in search of change.

Listen to your intuition, if it is pulling you toward change - look to embrace it.

Fear and doubt will always find its way in and then you can overthink things.

Be smart, but also be courageous if that is what you feel inside.

Have a great week fam!
